What your Customer Sees
Simple Idea. Hard to do.
In the United States, Surcharging is heavily regulated by:
• The Federal Reserve through Sarbanes-Oxley.
• The FTC
• Every State in the US
• Every country where you do business
• Your merchant processor
• Each credit card brand
Failure to comply can be bad. Very bad.
It is virtually impossible for your company to do this alone and remain in compliance, regardless of your size or technical capabilities.
We guarantee that you are always in compliance while getting the maximum benefit to your bottom line.
We’re it. No other company can do this for you.
There is no need to change your processor, bank or shopping cart.
Did we tell you that it’s free?

Q: Won’t this Increase Abandon Rates?
A: Not materially.
Look, no one will say “oh yay! A transaction fee! I can’t wait to pay it!”
The data–over 2 Billion transactions worth–says that your customers will pay a surcharge without batting an eye. In fact, you pay them all the time.
You’re probably familiar with gas stations that charge a ”cash” or “credit” price. This is a surcharge, usually around 4%.
When you buy gas, do you pay cash?
When the convenience store industry began charging to use a card for small transactions, a minimum of 5%, card usage actually went UP. The industry as a whole saw an uplift in Net Margin of about .5%.
When airlines started surcharging for checked bags, the hue and cry was loud. But, they now create billions of dollars in Net Margin to the industry. And they are as busy as ever.
Remember, the name of the game is profit. If you are not surcharging, you are leaving a huge amount of money on the table.
What’s in it for us?
By now, you can tell we believe in ”Simple.”
We recover the most you can get by law.
We add up to 0.5% to the transaction where allowable. It is collected with the surcharge.
Some cards actually cost more than you can legally collect to process. In that event, we don’t charge anything. Not one penny. *
*In most cases. Transactions classified as high-risk are always subject to the full 0.5% fee. For more details talk to your SurchX Relationship Manager.
Implementation is as easy as pie.
Usually, it’s as simple as any API.
If there is custom work to do, we do it. For free.
